Has anyone else besides me been following this either online/G4/ect.
There have not been to many big annoucements just futhering somethings already announced. Fallout 3, Resistence 2, Little Big Planet and GoW2 Have been some of the best imo. Havent seen much from the 3rd party people yet though. Maybe they just didnt wanrt to be dwarfed by the big companys.
EDIT: MAG, a 256 player at once battle FPS also looks interesting.

All I can say is PC gaming isn't dead at all. It has more exclusives then either of the consoles, but then again they all have some enticing announcements.

My list of want to play titles. (In no specific order and under construction)
-Resident Evil 5

-Dragon Age Origins
-Mirror's Edge

-Fable 2 (Needs to come to PC)

-Prince of Persia (Better be coming to PC)

I don't own a PS3, so not many of those titles are on the list. I'm primarily a PC/Nintendo gamer, but I delve into the 360 for those stellar titles that come around ever so often. Its a real shame that things like Final Fantasy and Resident Evil have moved onto Microsoft, its what really keeps me from getting a PS3. Right now the only reason I see to buy one is MGS4 and God of War 3, I don't own many games- only the best ones out there.

Here's my opinions:

Microsoft: Definitely the winner of E3. Even though they had tons of casual games, their hardcore games didn't disappoint. As someone who's totally uninterested in FPSs apart from Halo, Gears 2 and Fallout 3 piqued my interest greatly. The FFXIII announcement blew me away, as I don't need to fork over money for a PS3 for that game. They also had Netflix, a revamped dashboard, avatars, and a Portal sequel for XBLA.

Nintendo: Two words: Epic Fail. They had nothing unexpected except GTA for the DS, which frankly, is a terrible idea. Animal Crossing Wii is okay, but it's been speculated for years. Nothing on Zelda or Mario, and they didn't even utter the word WiiWare in their conference. They pretty much forgot who was watching the conference, with a good 95% being casual games. Hopefully they'll make a last day announcement like they did with the Twilight Princess trailer a few years back.

Sony: They almost caught up to Microsoft. They had a great line-up, and Resistance on PSP was really unexpected. GoW3 is great but it's been speculated for a while. They topped it off with MAG, with 256 player multiplayer. The only thing that puts Microsoft on top is FFXIII, so Sony did a decent job.

tl;dr version: MS>Sony>Nintendo.

I'm looking forward to Bungie's announcement tomorrow.

Wii motion plus was expected? It wasn't to me. Now finally sword fighting games like Red Steel will feel fun.

here are my comments on E3 08

Microsoft>sony>>>>>>>>>>nintendo this year

Microsoft had a playable live demo along with some rather good games, they also catered to the casual fans (the mid section had the casual stuff) and then the bombshell aka FF13 (I am a bit baised cause of that)

Now nintendo, they had a VERY annoying lady talk alot, and they again JUST LIKE LAST YEAR, talked way to much about sales figures, we are the best best best type of talk (they acted so smug IMO) and of course wii gimmicks (wii sports, wii music)

That said I will probably get wii sports 2 or whatever they called it to play with my girlfriend when we're bored.

And finally, Sony had a MUCH better presentation than Nintendo, had alot of montage videos, talked alot about the PS3, PS2, PSP, information on PSN and Home etc. the graphs thing using LBP was also pretty damned cool and made it fun imo.

I might end up getting a PS3 sooner rather than later but thats still TBD atm.

Overall ratings:

microsoft: 8/10
Nintendo: 2/10
Sony: 7/10

Final Comment: Nintendo needs to stop acting smug and take things seriously, they could do alot more with the Wii and they could have made a bigger effort on their presentation tonight. Oh and they also need to stop telling hardcore gamers to **** off >_> since that is what it feels like atm

Microsoft was my favorite, nintendo only had ac:cf, and sony was very boring.

Who else thought the demonstration of wii music was kind of cheesy.

I was expecting a FF7 remake too

I thought they woulda ended with something really huge. ( not that 256 multiplayer battles isn't awesome)

While nintedo's presentation was the weakest (mosly because they didn't mention many games) I still think the the Wii motion plus has a great amount of potential. While I agree that Nintedo's presenters came across as slightly intolerable, I was surprised that they had taken the lead in the console race.

Microsoft's presentation didn't really impress me at all. Everything was expected (exept for "Microsoft Miis" and Final Fantasy XIII, but no one really cares about that except the Japanese, and they'll just buy it for the PS3 anyway). Some of the demos were interesting, mainly Fallout 3, but nothing too great.

Sony did well, about as well as microsoft, but I wish they would have mentioned Little Big Planet more. The Restistance demo was pretty epic, but beyond that they didn't have many games. What really caught my attention was the movies in the online shop. I'm still not gonna get a PS3, but I'd definatly look into it if I ever decide to get a Blueray player.

Resistance Retribution was a nice surprise. Especially with Sony Bend behind it, who did such a fantastic job on Dark Mirror and Logans Shadow.

absolutely wrong @ FF13 bit

I know for a fact that many people who have a 360 and dont have a PS3 will buy it and are NOT japanese, myself included.

As for demos and that, I personally am quite interested in Fallout 3 (never really cared about that til now) and Fable 2

The Wii periph was expected because when they first showed it, if you look closely in all the previews in mags etc, it's always been there. They took it out of the final design, just to sell it for more $.

Final Fantasy XIII on XBOX360.

Just made it easier to choose between an XBOX360 and PS3.
PS3 is still way to expensive compared to XBOX360. And since all of my friends play XBOX360 it would be even more expensive if I was the only with an PS3 and can't share some games.

XBOX360 = €199 VS Playstation 3 = €399
Sony definatly lost it where I live when I look around me.

Its the only game I'm looking forward too atm.

You probably can already tell, I'm a 360 player. (I don't talk crap about other consoles, i'm not like that)

Microsoft: I like the direction Microsoft is going, as a hardcore type gamer (look at my gamertag), I do find these new additions to the interface and live features fun and entertaining, and they do look really fun to play and see. Gears 2 looks good, and the others games from third parties coming to the 360 look good too (HAWX, Endwar, PoP, Fallout 3 and so on and so on). Fable 2 is alright I guess, I did enjoy Fable 1 when it came out. Too Human looks like a Diablo clone on the console, but from the response the demo, I guess it's alright. Some people liked it, some just said it's "meh", I shall get that after seeing the reviews.

Kudos to Sony, you guys did pretty well at E3. One thing though, Resistance and GoW 3 looks pretty good, BUT I would like more info on MAG, It's too early to call it for that one.

Come on Nintendo, when you dimmed the lights and ready for the finale, I seriously thought Kid Icarus is coming... Way to go Wii Music.
